Jammu, Feb 24: Additional Director General, (Western Command) Chandigarh, P V Rama Sastry, reviewed border security during his three-day visit to the Area of Responsibility of Jammu Frontier.
He wrapped up his three day visit today.
The BSF spokesmn said that the ADG arrived at Headquarter BSF on February 22 wherein he was welcomed by IG Jammu Frontier, D K Boora.
Boora gave a detailed presentation to the ADG covering all the critical aspects of Border Security and Domination on Jammu IB and Line of Control.
The IG described the general security scenario, covering the deployment pattern of BSF battalions and their robust domination aspects on the complete Jammu IB.
He also informed the ADG about threats being faced by the BSF on Jammu IB, ranging from Tunneling and cross Border smuggling by Pak based elements.
A special emphasis was given on the Drone threat posed by Pak Drones abetting smuggling of weapons and narcotics from across the border to Indian Territory.
The ADG was made aware of the challenges faced by BSF troops due to the rainy season, foggy weather and high altitude related problems, said the spokesman.
Boora highlighted the recent BSF Jammu achievements like seizure of Narcotics on border, Neutralizing Pak intruders and detection of tunnels.
He said that thereafter, ADG visited the LC area of Sunderbani Sector, accompanied by D K Boora, IG and took stock of the situation.
ADG BSF reviewed the overall deployment of BSF and domination plan on LC area and held discussion with Sector and Battalions Commanders on ground and reviewed security situation.
During his visit to Jammu IB, the ADG accompanied by IG Jammu frontier visited Makwal, R S Pura, Samba and Kathua border areas and was briefed by concerned Sector Commanders and Battalion Commandants.
