JAMMU, Mar 8: State president of J&K National Trade Union Front (JKTUF) has urged upon the State Administration to address the burning issues of employees and other temporary and daily rated workers.
While addressing a joint press conference here today, JKTUF president Mohammad Gafoor Dar , vice president Rajinder Kumar and general secretary Nazir Ahmed Molvi and Akhil Sharma (vp) condemned the delaying tactics of the State Govt regarding the most burning issues of implementation of SRO 520 regarding regularization of casual labours of various departments numbering more than 60,000 and who are suffering badly for want of their pending wages since long.
They said the casual labours of various departments are on the path of agitation for release of their pending wages and their regularization. The Govt despite constituting the committee to look into pending wages and their regularization, has not come out with the sound proposal to address the grievances of the poor workers.
They claimed that the J&K National Trade Union Front, representing the interests of the State Govt employees, poor casual labour, Anganwadi workers, helpers and ASHA workers cannot remain silent spectators towards their legitimate demands. The Front will be forced to launch an agitation. They said the Front has decided to hold a massive protest/ demonstration on March 19 in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office to press the Govt for immediate settlement of the genuine demands of these workers, which included implementation of SRO 520 regarding regularization of casual labours and release of their pending wages, implementation of SRO 380 in PDD department, regularization of vocational instructors of ITI’s and Adhoc/ consolidated/ contractual employees of other departments and enhancement of their salary also, release of pending wages of Anganwadi workers and helpers besides ASHA workers and their promotion without further delay.
