JAMMU, Sept 14: Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department, Vivek Bhardwaj today visited the office of Directorate of Health Services Jammu and reviewed the functioning of Health Department.
He was accompanied by DG Planning H&ME Satvir Kour; Additional Secretary H&ME Rajeshwar Charak and MD JKMSCL, Dr Yash Pal Sharma. The meeting was attended by Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Renu Sharma, Dy Directors, Assistant Directors and all other senior officers of the Directorate besides Chief Engineer PWD Manzoor Hussain.
During the meeting, a detailed PowerPoint Presentation was given by DHS Jammu regarding the working, performance and achievements made by the department. DHS also gave a detailed description regarding the various Centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in Jammu division. Various schemes like NTEP, NVBDCP, IDSP, NPCDCS, NTCP, Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushdhi Kendra etc were discussed in detail.
Additional Chief Secretary directed STO to increase TB notification especially by private doctors / practitioners. He also issued directions to increase institutional deliveries from 92 percent to 100 percent and directed that audit of all maternal deaths should be carried out in detail.
DHS Jammu informed Additional Chief Secretary about Kayakalp awards won by various health institutes of Jammu division for which he showed his appreciation and stressed that such efforts should continue in future also.
Additional Chief Secretary was informed that 100 percent grievances redressal has been done by the Directorate for which he also congratulated the officers for taking timely action.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary issued directions to Chief Engineer PWD to prepare and submit DPRs promptly and in detail and also directed DHS to constitute a committee to examine all components of DPR before submission. He directed Chief Accounts Officer of the Directorate to project funds for repair of buildings of Health department. He also gave directions to project funds under Civic Action Plan for Biomedical Waste Management.
The issue regarding reasons for delay in DPC of non-gazetted staff was also discussed and necessary instructions were issued by Additional Chief Secretary.
As DHS Jammu projected the issue regarding shortage of space at existing complex of the Directorate, Additional Chief Secretary directed DHS Jammu to submit a detailed DPR for construction of new “Swasthya Bhavan” at the same site after working out the modalities in this regard.
