LEH, Mar 22: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Leh, Moses Kunzang inaugurated the Press Club Leh (PCL) office here today.
Lauding journalists of Leh who managed to function with limited resources and amidst various difficulties, Moses Kunzang assured full support from the administration to the press in future. Kunzang proposed that the building which houses PCL office be named as ‘Press Club Building’.
He also assured to look into the possibility of sparing more rooms to PCL in the same building so that the organization can carry out its activities smoothly.
President, Press Club Leh, Morup Stanzin, in his welcome address, informed that Press Club Leh is already in touch with Press Club of India, Press Club Jammu and Press Club in Chandigarh for its affiliation and association so that journalists from Leh get enough exposure and issues of the region also get covered nationally.
Social Activist and founder of SECMOL, Sonam Wangchuk announced to support Press Club Leh with a V-Sat satellite internet connection and also place an amount of Rs one lakh at the disposal of Press Club Leh to support students from Ladakh interested to pursue journalism.
