KATHUA, June 26: ADC, Basohli Sanjay Gupta today convened a public meeting to take first-hand information of problems being faced by the people.
Several demands and issues were flagged during the meeting mainly pertaining to planting trees at Ban Khandi Mata Temple, sufficient and quality supply of power and water, plugging leakage of PHE pipes, filling of vacant posts, construction of IHHLs and amendments in BPL and other lists.
The ADC directed the DFO to launch plantation dive at Ban Khandi Mata Temple during ensuing monsoon season and engineers of PHE were directed to plug leakages of PHE pipes, besides resorting supply at water scarce areas.
For removing encroachment and to increase vigil in the market area to ensure quality food at appropriate rate, the ADC framed a Committee comprising of Tehsildar, TSO and EO and authorized them to conduct surprise checks at shops and other business establishments.
He exhorted upon the BDOs to conduct fresh survey under SBM at village Gaghrore, Nagrote, Preta etc for construction of new IHHLs to cover maximum beneficiaries. He further directed the concerned officers to complete the construction work of Toilet Complexes at Atal Setu, Bus Stand and Ramleela Ground with in the stipulated time frame.
The officers of Forest Department were directed to start steamer services in Ranjit Sagar Dam on priority so that tourists can be facilitated. The officers of Municipal Committee and PWD were directed to install proper signage along the roads mentioning important tourist spots besides maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation at these tourist spots.
The illumination at Fort Park, Basohli was also discussed during the meeting and appropriate directions were passed by the ADC.
