JAMMU, Oct 16: Adbi Kunj J&K, an oldest front ranking multilingual literary organization of the State today held a special multilingual short story meet to mark the 77th death anniversary of veteran Urdu and Hindi short story writer and novelist late Munshi Prem Chand.
The meet was presided over by a well known Urdu and Pahari writer and poet Suresh Rahi, whereas Com Jaswant Singh, chief organizer of Adbi Kunj Jammu conducted the proceeding.
On the occasion Sham Talib and other members of the meet threw light on the various aspects of Munshi Prem Chand’s life and his contributions towards the prose writing in Hindi and Urdu.
On the occasion, papers were presented on the works of Munshi Prem Chand and others. This was followed by a poetic meet, in which Dr Bharat Bhushan Gupta, M L Ganjoo Frisal, Com Jaswant Singh, S K Gupta, Suresh Rahi, K L Dewana, Ashok Kumar Muntiq, Sanjeev Kumar, Mohd Ashraf Ganaie Banhali, Raiz Ahmed Sahil, M S Kamra, Romesh Rahi, Rajeev Kumar, Raj Kamal, Taiyab Bharti, Raj Kumar Uttam, Abdul Jabar, Ch Manzoor Badana, Santosh Nadan, Dr Raj Kumari Sehgal and Sham Talib presented their poems.
In the meet Adbi Kunj Jammu also paid its rich tributes to famous Ghazal maestro late Jagjit Singh, whose 3rd death anniversary was observed on October 10.
