JAMMU, Nov 30: Adarsh Vihar locality just adjacent to Marble Market and Channi Himmat in Jammu city is without water supply for the last four days.
Balwant Singh, president Adarsh Vihar Welfare Society said that water supply in from Lane No. 1 to Lane 6 is affected for the last four days. The people are suffering badly. The PHE authorities Gandhi Nagar have failed to provide even alternate water supply. He alleged that concerned officials have no control over the field staff and carelessness on their part may be the reason. The matter was brought to the notice of concerned Junior Engineer, who instead of listening to the public complaint and solving the issue, misbehaved and asked to lodge complaint against him with the Lt Governor.
Society members took serious note of it and urged upon the Chief Engineer PHE, Jammu Sanjeev Chadha to take cognizance and appropriate action in this regard. They also demanded shifting of entire PHE staff from the area. Chief Engineer when contacted said he was not aware of the issue but will inquire from the XEn, PHE Gandhinagar and take cognizance of the matter.
