Acts of terrorism, ‘Naxalism’ reduced by 80 pc: Rajnath Singh hails security agencies

LAKHIMPUR KHERI: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday claimed that due to the alertness of the security agencies, there had been an 80 per cent decrease in incidents related to terrorism and ‘Naxalism’ in the past four-and-half years.

Addressing the media on the occasion of the inauguration of the administrative building and residential area of the Sashastra Seema Bal, Mr Singh said that the neighbouring country Pakistan was being unsuccessful in all its attempts to make the Kashmir valley unstable, the attempts at which he said, were being foiled by the quick response of security forces, Jammu-Kashmir police and the intelligence department.
The Home Minister averred that the economy of the country had gathered a new strength in this period (past four-and-half years) which had even been said at the international level, adding that in 2014, India was positioned at the 9th place in the world’s selected 10 countries, while now it had reached the sixth place.
The leader expressed hope of India getting included in world’s top three countries in terms of economy, by the year 2030.
Reacting to a question on the decreasing value of rupee in comparison to dollar, he said that ups and downs were a normal phenomenon.
Mr Singh said that the Ayushman Bharat Jan Aarogya Yojana was the world’s largest scheme, adding that seven-and-half crore people had received treatment under it.
The Union Minister said that it was a responsibility of the BJP workers to identify the poor people to provide them with the benefits of such schemes.
