Action Plan of various agri related CSS discussed

SAMBA, June 25: A meeting of District Level Committee for National Foods Security Mission (NFSM), National Bamboo Mission (NBM) and Technology Mission was held under the chairmanship of R K Varma, District Development Commissioner Samba for the approval of action plan for the current year.
The DDC emphasized upon the members of the committees to implement the schemes in a time bound manner so that the benefits percolate to the farming community thereby raising their socio economic status besides contributing to the development of the district as well as the State. He also advised the member farmers to ensure the full implementation of the scheme and increase the production and productivity of wheat and paddy.
Earlier, Dr R K Sharma Chief Agriculture Officer, Samba gave a power point presentation on the achievements made in the district during 2012-13 under National Food Security Mission (NFSM), National Bamboo Mission (NBM) & Horticulture Mission for North East & Himalayan State (HMNEH) and also presented the proposed action plan for the year 2013-14.
He also informed that about 110 hectare of additional area has been brought under irrigation during 2012-13 by providing pump sets and construction of check dams.
Others who attended the meeting included Assistant Commissioner Development Samba, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Deputy Director Handicrafts, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives and progressive farmers of the district.
