JAMMU, July 13: The Action Committee Dudu-Basantgarh took out protest march and expressed dissatisfaction over working of SIT whereby it has not been able to trace out dead body of Shiv Raj since past 41 days.
The protest procession started from Parla Dudu and culminated at office of SDM Dudu, where a memorandum of demands addressed to Union Home Minister as well as Lieutenant Governor J&K was handed over.
It looks as if the department and police are resorting to kid-glove treatments which cannot yield results in the subject case, the members of the Action Committee said, adding that the confidence of the people has almost been shaken in local police as well as in the process of law.
The action committee has decided to boycott all the programmes of Government except of COVID management till the demands put forth by committee are favorably met with.
The Committee reiterated demand for fast tracking investigation process, Rs 20 lakh as compensation and Government job for NoKs of late Shiv Raj, immediate registration of an FIR for murder against the guilty members of the rebellious tribe, permanently debarring the said rebellious tribes from entering Seoj Dhar henceforth and distributing the pastures between the local shepherds so as to avoid friction, formulation of a Commission of inquiry to ensure that all complaints of extortion, exploitation, sexual exploitation etc to be registered against the tribe and bring all of them to a logical conclusion at the earliest and immediate action against guilty officers of Civil/Police administration who have allowed this nexus to breed and bloom under their very nose.
The speakers also expressed dissatisfaction over grant of ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh by district administration to the family of Shiv Raj, which is like peanut and adds another insult to injury.
