JAMMU, July 16: A unique Acting Workshop was inaugurated at Natrang Studio Theatre, here today.
The Workshop began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Natrang Director Padamshree Balwant Thakur..
It was the second Workshop under the series “The need for right training” which is an initiative of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi (Ministry of Culture, Government of India) to reach-out and provide world class theatre training to young aspirants of Acting who don’t have proper means and exposure in theatre.
The Workshop is being conducted by Vikram Sharma who is an alumni of the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, New York, USA.
The first inaugural workshop under this series was conducted at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra in association with their Board of Cultural Activities which was attended by more than 25 individuals and received great response from the students.
Giving details about this unique Acting Training Programme, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that Natrang keep endeavouring to expose its actors to the new developing trends and approaches in Acting and theatre practice.
Mr Thakur further said that without up-gradation of your skilled human resource you cannot imagine growth and progress in the work of a creative Institution. Appreciating the training process of Vikram Sharma, he said that the day is not far when Vikram will be the most demanded actor and trainer of the country as he has always been adding to his repository of new researches and training methodologies.
Vikram Sharma is a Delhi based Actor and Actor trainer. He is alumni of world renowned Lee Strasberg theatre and Film Institute, New York.
The youngsters who are participating in the Workshop include Rishav Sharma, Kuldeep Angral, Aarti Devi, Abhinav Sharma, Kananpreet Kour, Meenakshi Bhagat, Mohit Sharma, Udit Sagar, Sumit Raina, Shivam Singh, Manoj Kumar Lalotra, Ajay Kumar Lalotra, Iftikar Mughal, Sushant Singh Charak, Akash Wadhawan and Adil Khan.
