JAMMU, Aug 22: The 24th National Photo Award was conferred on SN Acharya, Senior Photographic Officer of the Jammu based Public Relations Unit of the Ministry of Defence at New Delhi today.
The award was presented by Anurag, Joint Secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during an impressive and glittering awards presentation ceremony held at All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS), New Delhi in the presence of a large and distinguished audience.
Govinda Bhattacharya, Director General Comptroller and Auditor General was the chief guest on the occasion.
The awards presentation ceremony was followed by a Photo exhibition of all the Award winning photographs.
SN Acharya, being the only Photographic Officer from the Ministry of Defence to cover the entire Northern Command theatre as well as a part of the Western Command theatre, has vast and varied experience of photo coverage for the Ministry of Defence.
