JAMMU, Nov 26: Chairman Amritsar College of Engineering and Technology (ACET) Amritsar, Amit Sharma and Ruchika Sarna from Oracle India have signed an MoU, through which the students of ACET will be getting hands on practical experience on technologies like Big Data, ERP, E-Com and Cloud Computing.
Amit Sharma said that “with increasing competition in job market, it is important for the students to gain additional knowledge apart from regular syllabi and become preferred choice of the employer”.
Ruchika Sarna, Oracle India, said that they feel honoured to be associated with ACET for last six years, one of the leading engineering institutes in Northern India having focus on quality and latest engineering skills.
With regard to the new products, Primavera can be strongly evaluated for Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering students, E-Com which is a buzz in IT industry and can be offered to all students across the disciplines’ of engineering as a great value addition.
Dr V K Banga, Principal said that these technologies would be accommodated in the regular curriculum as ACET being an autonomous institute is entitled to modify the curricula as per the industry needs. The practical exposure in these technologies will boost the confidence level of the students and brighten their chance for placements.
Registrar Manoj Kumar, Dean Students affairs and Heads of Computer Science and Engineering Col (Rtd.) Gurmukh Singh, Dean Placement Rakesh Jaitly, Head Information Technology Prof Sandeep Kad and Electronics and Head Communication Engineering Prof (Dr) Tanupreet Singh were also present.
