Accused still at large in gang-rape case

JAMMU, May 5: Six accused persons, who were allegedly involved in gang-raping a lady in an area of Gharota police station, are still at large.
As per police sources, a woman hailing from Jandial morha Nallah Nakhtar, Tehsil Bhalwal area submitted a written complaint with Gharota police station stating that she along with some other ladies of her village had gone to fetch drinking water from a tank, which is about 1.5 kilometers away from her house.
When the ladies reached the water tank, Tabil Hussain, Mohammad Khan and Bagh Hussain, all sons of Noor Ahmed and Jamat Ali, son of Bashir Ahmed started beating her mercilessly and later took turns to rape her, as per complainant.
Two more persons, who were accompanying the aforesaid men, also committed the rape, she added.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 20/16 under Section 376, 323 and 34 RPC has been registered at police station Gharota and investigation taken up.
The woman was restored to family members after conducting medical examination at Government Hospital Sarwal, while hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
