This has reference to the recent notification by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with regard to accreditation.
The UGC decision making accreditation must for higher educational Institutions is welcome.
This step is surely going to improve the higher education sector in the country which needs more reforms to bring to the international standards. Our Universities have failed to make a mark for themselves in the world.
The accreditation process will help in making quality education and infrastructure available in the Universities. Called UGC mandatory Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Educational Institutions Regulations. The new notification seeks to ensure that students can make informed choices about academic courses.
The accreditation process will also keep a check on bogus Universities.
