JAMMU, Jan 16: A day after apprising the Financial Commissioner Dr A K Mehta about promotion issue of J&K Accounts Service members, the J&K Accounts Employees Association has threatened to call for token strike if the Government does not take a positive decision on their demands.
The Association lamented that despite availability of sufficient number of vacant posts and the Chief Secretary’s instructions, the promotion of the members of J&K Accounts Service has not been made for the last one and half year while the authorities in the Finance Department were assigning additional charge of posts thereby delaying the promotion avenues of officers.
During a meeting of the Association, which was attended by Presidents of both Jammu and Kashmir divisions, along with President of Secretariat Accounts Employees Union, led by Kamal Singh Pathania and Naiz Qadri, a threadbare discussion was on the issue of promotions.
All the members unanimously decided to call for token strike if that the authorities don’t consider their genuine and just demands, which include Selection Scale to Jr Scale officers, enhancing the quota from 25 percent to 50 percent of the sanctioned posts, creation of posts of Accounts Officers in Police Department, transparent transfer policy, regular DPC, etc.
The meeting was attended by Adarsh Sharma, Rajinder Bhat, Ashok Kumar Sethi, Akhaya Kumar, Yougal Kumar Gupta, Shiv Paul Singh, Sanjay Pandoh, Mehboob Chowdhary, Rakesh Sharma, Rakesh Kashyap, Brij Bushan Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Kulbir Singh, Tajinder Paul Singh and others.
