Accounts employees discuss demands

JAMMU, June 12: J&K Accounts Employees Association (JKAEA) in its General Body meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of Kulwant Singh Sambyal its president discussed their long pending demands.
The meeting was attended by the Executive members of the Association.
It while opposing the pick and choose transfer, attachment etc demanded a transfer policy be framed in the Department. It said the Director Accounts and Treasuries should not adopt pick and choose transfer, attachment etc and relieve the under transfer officials immediately.
It demanded immediate release of notification of PSC Department examination Part Ist and also removal of 18 months barrier in Departmental examination for those accounts personnel who have attained 50 years of age and they should be give special relaxation in departmental examination.
It further demanded amendment in SRO 160 , implementation of SRO 272, change of designation of accounts assistant to accountant, accountant to senior accountant, full powers be given to district treasury officers for transfer posting at district cadre and also accountants posts should be of divisional cadre. It showed concern that all treasuries infrastructure is in bad condition totally and demanded conducting of Department exam at NZATI Jammu/Kashmir as due to non conducting such Department Examination in time in future the accounts personnel will suffer badly and the untrained employees of corporations be sent back to their parent departments and corporations.
The meeting said that these demands were discussed with Finance Secretary two months back who was also urged to take on spot stock position of infrastructure at treasuries.
