Accountable governance

Sir,
This is in reference to news story by Mr Mohinder Verma, “RTI strengthens democracy, reduces dishonesty’ superscribed by a crisp observation to fight against corruption by Justice J.P. Singh published in the columns of your esteemed Daily on 7.2.2016. Singh in his observations also remarked that SVC has become a forum for unhealthy delay in the quick disposal of cases and shielding the accused Government functionaries. It is for the incumbent CVC now to refute this high voltage observation of the Ld. Justice that has been reported in the news story and raised too many eyebrows.
Mr Singh also bemoaned the lack of requisite infrastructure for the smooth running of the State Accountability Commission under the dispensation of the State  Governor who is full conversant with the issue at stake. The mandate to encourage accountable governance is the need of the hour for all of us.
Justice Singh also made a mention that ethics and morality have now become alien to our set-up and no serious effort towards the building of character is being made. Possibly he is hinting at the role of teachers in general majority of whom are lost in the trivialities of life and do not have the courage to take a lead in nation building process. The tool of RTI can help us a lot in puncturing the dens of dishonesty and pave the way for a vibrant society provided it is judiciously used.
Yours etc..
