JAMMU, Oct 7: Supreme Court has directed the J&K Government to accommodate KAS officer Mohammad Mehraj-ud-Din Khan as Commissioner Secretary.
After hearing Advocate General of State Jahangir Iqbal Ganai and other lawyers for J&K Government and Advocate Keshav Thakur for KAS officer, Supreme Court Bench comprising Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice R Banumathi directed, “as on today, if any KAS officer junior to respondent (Mohammad Mehraj-ud-Din Khan) is holding the post of Commissioner Secretary to the Government, the respondent shall be accommodated in any one of the posts of Commissioner Secretary by shifting any one of such officers”.
“The respondent, who is personally present in the court, submits that he will furnish a list of such officers to the Advocate General within two days”, the Bench observed.
Accordingly, Supreme Court directed for listing the case on October 10, 2017 for further orders.
