Accident victim succumbs

JAMMU, Sept 20: A paramilitary Jawan, who was seriously injured in a road mishap in November last year in Samba district, succumbed to his injuries.
According to a police official, a man identified as Kamal Kumar son of late Parshotam Lal, resident of Nanak Chak, Samba, suffered serious injuries on November 6, 2016, when a scooty on which he was travelling was hit by a rashly driven truck in Nanak Chak area on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
He said that the injured man, who was a CRPF Jawan and was posted at 82 Battalion, CRPF, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. During treatment, the injured Jawan went into coma.
“Later, the Jawan was discharged from the hospital and after remaining in coma during this period, he expired last evening”, the police official said, adding, a case in this connection stands registered at police station Samba and the concerned police has also taken cognizance of the fresh development in the case.
