ACB produces charge sheet against Revenue officials, others

JAMMU, Jan 27: Anti-Corruption Bureau Jammu produced charge sheet against Revenue officials and others, who are accused of fraudulent sale of land in Samba.
Charge sheet in case FIR number 13/2016, PS VOJ (now ACB), was produced in the court of Spl Judge Anti-Corruption Court Jammu against five accused persons namely Nazir Ahmed, then Naib Tehsildar; Ram Dass, then Girdawar Bedhari Samba; Gulab Singh of Nanak Nagar Jammu, Sardari Lal of PWD Colony, Kathua and Yudhvir Singh, then Patwari Bedhari (Nanak Chack) Samba (now dead) for commission of offences under section 5 (1) (d) r/w 5 (2) J&K PC Act,467,468, 470, 471, and 120-B RPC.
The instant case was registered after conducting a verification into the allegations on the complaint of one Meena Anand of Samba alleging therein that accused Gulab Singh through his attorney holder Sardari Lal, in connivance with the Revenue officials sold the land measuring 9 kanal 05 marlas falling under khasra number 145, 148 and 291 situated at village Nanak Chack, Samba, owned and possessed by her (the complainant) . The land was sold by attorney holder Sardari Lal to Raj Kumar of Meerth, Kathua and Jugal Kishore of Rasoo, Hatli, Kathua.
The allegations were substantiated during investigation and as such the chargesheet in the instant case was produced for judicial determination. The instant case was transferred to the Court of Addl Sessions Judge Jammu and next date of hearing has been fixed on February 24, 2020.
