JAMMU: Anti Corruption Bureau produced Charge-Sheet in case FIR 08/2019 u/s 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2),4-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act Samvat 2006 of P/S ACB Kashmir against Abdul Aziz Bhat the then Executive Engineer R& B Division Bandipora.
The instant case was registered on the basis of a written complaint lodged in Police Station Anti Corruption Bureau wherein it was alleged that the complainant has executed and completed the works of R&B Division, Bandipora, but Shri Abdul Aziz Bhat, the then Executive Engineer Bandipora was not releasing the payments. The complainant requested him several times, but he did not release the payment of Rs.5,18,089/- without bribe. Finally the said Executive Engineer demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000/- for release of the payment of bill for Rs.5,18,089/-.
After registration a Case FIR No. 08/2019 P/S ACB, a trap team was constituted and the Services of independent witness were utilized. On 26.04.2019, the said accused Abdul Aziz Bhat, the then Executive Engineer R&B Division Bandipora was arrested red handed while demanding and accepting an amount of Rs.20,000/- money from the complainant.
The Investigation of the case was concluded as proved against the aforementioned accused public servant for launching prosecution and the chargesheet was produced in the court of law.
Next date of hearing has been fixed on 26.12.2020.
