Academy holds special function to celebrate Theatre Day

JAMMU, Mar 27: To commemorate the World Theatre Day, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages today held a special function Natya Path at the K L Saigal Hall during which two plays, one each in Dogri and Hindi, namely ‘O Koan Tha’ by N D Jamwal and ‘Teen Seerhian’ by Prof. Rita Jitindra were recited and two short stories of famous author Prem Chand, ‘Bhare Bhai Sahab ‘ and ‘Guli Danda’  were staged.
The function was presided over by noted Dogri author Prof. N D Sharma while Anjali Sharma, In-charge Station Director, Doordarshan Kendra Jammu was the chief guest.
The plays were appreciated by the audience. Prominent artists who participated include Abhishek Sharma, Surbi Balgotra, Shashi Bhushan, Naresh Kumar, Rakesh Dogra, Abhishek Bharti and Usha Slathia. The play Teen Seerhian was read out by Prof. Rita Jitindra.
