JAMMU, Dec 1: Reiterating its demand for immediate withdrawal of controversial J&K Public University Bill-2022, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarhti Parishad (ABVP) has resented the purported announcement of enhancing retirement age of the university faculty.
“Contrary to the demand of ABVP for immediate withdrawl of J&K Public University Bill-2022, the LG Government has announced enhancement of service duration of university professors from the age limit of 62 to 65 years, which is totally unacceptable,” said ABVP National Secretary Gulam Mustafa Ali, while addressing a press conference, here today.
He alleged that the decision to enhance retirement age has solely been taken with malafied intention just to dilute the boiling issue of Public University Bill and merely to distract the attention of the agitating professors and other staff including students of the public universities of J&K.
“It is very unfortunate that lakhs of educated youth in J&K are unemployed and instead of providing them jobs, LG Government has taken decision to enhance retirement age of those in service,” he said and strongly opposed any move on enhancement of retirement age.
The ABVP leader said that the implementation of Rehbar-e-Talim and Rehbar-e-Zirat etc have already blocked the fresh recruitment process and now the decision on enhancement of retirement age would further add to the woes of the educated unemployed youth.
During the press conference, Mustafa Ali also informed about the resolutions passed in 68th three- day National Conference of ABVP, which was held at Jaipur in Rajasthan from 25 to 27 November.
The National Conference of ABVP is an annual program, which provides the vision and mission for the working of ABVP in the upcoming year.
