ABVP launches ‘My hand with Disha campaign’

ABVP activists pledging their support for death penalty to rape accused.

JAMMU, Dec 4: Jammu University unit of ABVP today launched ‘My hand with Disha campaign’ for demanding death sentence to the rapist and urging the Government to frame laws for the same.
The campaign was led by Palak Sambyal and Manisha Khanna of the Law Department and coordinated by Dyutima Kesar. More than 200 students coloured their hands and made a mark of their support on the wall for demanding justice to the victim who was brutally raped and murdered in Telengana few days back.
While addressing the students, Palak and Manisha said that the society needs to wake up against the l mindset, which encourages such heinous acts. “It is very unfortunate that so called intellectuals have failed to return their awards today , or make any statement to condemn such an act of brutality in Telengana,” they said also condemned the statement of Telengana Minister who said that the victim must have called the police first rather than her sister.
