JAMMU, May 19: A delegation of ABVP today called on Jammu University Vice Chancellor Prof R D Sharma and submitted him a memorandum highlighting various demands and issues of the students.
The delegation, headed by ABVP State secretary Rahul Dev Sharma, apprised the Vice-Chancellor about the shortfalls in proper implementation of newly introduced Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in under graduate programme as all the norms are not being followed while basic infrastructure for the system is also not available in any of the colleges in Jammu and Kashmir.
The ABVP also demanded that first semester result of UG programme should be reviewed and there should be proper carry on system for the students. “No doubt new system has been accepted by almost all the universities in India but in our State there is no basic infrastructure for the said system, so either it should be replaced or some amendments be taken into action,” the ABVP suggested.
The ABVP also demanded revocation of JU notification according to which the students appearing in B Ed are eligible to appear in JUET-2015 only if their annual exams and final teaching practice are completed.
The ABVP deputation comprised of Aman Sharma, Madhu Sharma, Sourav Sharma , Akhilesh Khajuria, Arun Prabhat, Kanav Sharma , Lakhan Jamwal, Asha, Rishabh Sharma, Alok and others.
