Absconding fraudster arrested

POONCH, July 14: Police today arrested an absconder who had duped the people of lakhs.
The accused namely Arahgulavan son of Krishna, a resident of 108-06/ NA Kadaiveethi, District Thanjour was wanted in case FIR No 96/2014 U/S 420 RPC which was registered at police station Poonch on July 28, 2014 for cheating/duping people of their hard earned money.
Arahgulavan along with his other associates had opened a showroom near SK Bridge Poonch in the name and style “Welcome Home Needs” and cheated several innocent people of the district of several lakhs of rupees by promising to provide them house hold articles on heavy discounts within 20-30 days after getting advance payment.
The accused arranged to provide home appliances to some people of the town to win the confidence of others. After collecting huge amount from the people of the district, he shut down his business and absconded along with his other associates.
Keeping in view the public importance of the case, SSP Poonch, JS Johar, constituted a special team to nab the gang and after strenuous efforts the team succeeded in apprehending the master mind of the gang from Tamil Nadu.
Interrogation of the arrested person is going on and more arrests are expected as per investigation. The arrest was made by SI Kali Charan, Inspector Jatinder Raina, SHO police station Poonch, Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman, Deputy SP Hqrs under the overall supervision of Jatinder Singh Johar, SSP Poonch.
