JAMMU, July 30: An accused, involved in cash snatching case registered with Nehru Market Police Post in the year 2013, was arrested from City Chowk area of the winter capital.
As per police sources, a team from Nehru Market Police Post while searching for an accused involved in cash snatching case registered with Nehru Market in the year 2013, was nabbed near City Chowk.
The accused has been identified as Deepak Raj, son of Kalu Raj of Nepal, presently residing in Patta Chungi.
The accused along with his associates had snatched Rs 30,000 from Kamal Kishore, son of Parshotam Dass near Nehru Market on August 30, 2013 and was still at large since then.
In this regard, a case under FIR number 217/13 already stands registered against the accused at Nehru Market Police Post.
Further investigation into the case is going on to ascertain the involvement of the accused in other theft related cases.
Police team headed by Incharge Police Post Nehru Market SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh, SP South Rahul Malik and SSP Jammu Atul Goel.
