RAMBAN, Oct 11: An absconder, who was evading his arrest for last 22 years, was today arrested by Ramban police.
“The arrested absconder namely Ashok Kumar son of late Malk Ram of Tali Morh (Miran Sahib, tehsil R S Pura, district Jammu) was booked in case FIR number 86/1999 u/s 279 RPC of police station Batote,” a police official said. He said Ramban police was looking for the person from last 22 years and finally information was received through reliable sources about the accused.
“Acting quickly on the information, a special police team of police station Batote headed by Inspector Ajeet Singh (SHO Batote) under the supervision of Pardeep Singh Sen, Deputy SP Headquarters Ramban and overall supervision of P D Nitya, SSP Ramban, was constituted and the team after raiding suspected locations finally achieved success in arresting the accused person from Jammu,” the official added.
