Abrogation of Article 370

Sir,
There is no denying the fact that August 5, 2019 will be considered as a ‘Red letter day’ in the history of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state. This day dawned with historic decision of Parliament under Modi regime to Abrogate Article 370 from the erstwhile J&K state and its subsequent bifurcation into two Union Territories i.e. J&K and Ladakh. The decision has definitely paved the way towards overall developments of all the three regions viz- Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh despite criticism by some people having vested interests. The move is considered as historic because people of this particular region have conviction that with an end of so-called Article, their aspirations will be met. This step is viewed just a beginning on the path of developments with far reaching consequences. The crusade initiated by the Union Government under the able leadership of Narendra Modi will culminate when Kashmiri migrants will return voluntarily to their home land i.e. Kashmir and consider their safety, security and amity in the valley as prevailing post exodus of Kashmiri pandits. In this context, the Union Government should make concerted efforts for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants by instilling a sense of security and confidence in their minds and creating a congenial atmosphere in the valley. Such a scenario will fulfill the vision of unified India.
