JAMMU, Feb 18: National Panthers Party (NPP) supremo and its chief patron, Prof Bhim Singh said the only solution to restoration of peace in trouble -torn State is the correction of the 70 year old blunder and abrogation of Article 370 of Indian Constitution which was introduced as a temporary provision.
Prof Bhim Singh in a statement issued here, today expressed shock that the real message which he has been trying to convey to the countrymen and the world for more than 50 years has not been extended. He made it clear that removal of temporary provision of Article 370 is only solution to Jammu and Kashmir issue.
He said “let the whole world and my countrymen also understand that I have not been made a permanent citizen of J&K as temporary Article does not permit and allow the Parliament of India to legislate and make laws in respect of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Communication and Allied matters,. All the three subjects were handed over to Union of India by the then ruler of J&K on October, 26, 1947. Several rulers like Hyderabad and Junagarh have never signed Instrument of Accession”, he added.
He said 575 states including the Hyderabad and Junagarh were integrated with the Union of India and announced through Constitution of India on January 26, 1950.
Prof Bhim Singh said that he has been beating drums from Kashmir to Kanyakumari seeking cooperation of all countrymen and political parties for the support to persuade the Parliament of India to amend Article 370 of the Constitution which has been sulking in the Constitution for past 70 years as a temporary provision. “I have been appealing the entire countrymen, politicians to support integration of J&K with the rest of the country”, he added.
He said for the information of Kashmiri leaders who had said yesterday that India should decide the final settlement, the final settlement is that J&K has been the integral part of the Union of India. The J&K should enjoy the entire Constitution of India including its Chapter III on Fundamental Rights. The Indian Flag from Kanyakumari to Kashmir should extend to the entire country including in J&K. This is the final resolution and only solution.
