JAMMU, Oct 17: Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture Priya Sethi today chaired a high level meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, here.
The meeting was held in the office chambers of the Secretary of the Academy Dr. Aziz Hajni.
Taking note of the delay in the works, Priya Sethi said that fresh deadline of October 31 has been fixed and in the first week of the November the Abhinav Theatre will be handed over to the general public, artists, writers and theatre activists in particular. She said the theatre has been centre of attraction for art connoisseurs and very soon the renovated complex would again abuzz with art activities.
“Cultural activities would be held on regular basis and the renovated theatre would again become centre of attraction in the city,” she added.
The completion of the long pending project has been made possible by personal intervention of the Minister. The Secretary of the Academy had taken up the task to give back to the Jammuities their favourite art destination in fully refurbished form.
Alok Mengi, CE, Deepak Rajdan, CE, Mech., PWD, Uttar Kumar, X-En, R&B, Pawan Ticku, AEE, Electric, Ashok Singh, X-En Mech, and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were present in the meeting.
