Abducted policeman killed by militants in south Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A bullet riddled body of Jammu and Kashmir police constable, abducted by militants on Friday night was recovered on Saturday in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, a police spokesman said this evening.

He said Mohammad Saleem Shah, who was promoted to constable from Special Police Officer (SPO) recently, had come to his home at Mutalhama on leave from Kathua training centre. However, last night a group of gunmen entered his house and abducted him to an unknown place.

A massive hunt was launched to trace the constable. However, bullet riddled body of Shah was recovered about ten km from his house this afternoon, he said. (AGENCIES)
