DODA, July 13: An 11-year old girl, who was kidnapped about 10 days back, was found dead in the forest area of Bhaderwah this morning. However, the kidnapper was still at large.
Police sources said that minor girl namely Kajal was kidnapped from Nalthi area of Bhaderwah on July 3 and on next day her father Rakesh Kumar lodged a complaint with the Police mentioning that she was kidnapped by 29-year old Tirath Ram of the same area.
Today, the half-naked body of the girl was noticed by some locals in the forest area of Nalthi and they informed police about the same. The body was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Bhaderwah and after postmortem it was handed over to family members for last rites. Police also recovered a beer can and shoes of the girl from the spot.
Police sources claimed that girl might have been raped by the accused. However, the facts would come to fore only on the receipt of post-mortem report.
“We have registered case under Section 302 RPC in this regard and a hunt is on to nab the kidnapper”, SP Doda, Arif Rishu said when contacted.
