Srinagar, Jan 2: Terming the tearing of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s signboard at Aam Aadmi Party’s central Kashmir office as unfortunate, the party’s youth wing today demanded that the AAP leaders in Valley are given proper security cover.
In a press statement, AAP’s youth president in central Kashmir, Jibran Dar said that his party leaders have repeatedly approached the J&K Government, seeking security to the party leaders but their repeated requests have fallen on the “deaf ears”.
“Government itself would be held responsible if anything untoward happens to our leaders in future,” Jibran said.
He said that Arvind Kejriwal is a mark of dignity, honour and a man with true leadership skills and an attack on him means an attack on the democratic setup of the country.
He further said that the tearing of signboard of Arvind Kejriwal shows the frustration of the opposition leaders over AAP’s rise in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
“AAP’s rise is the reason opposition parties are resorting to such cheap tactics,” he said.
Meanwhile, he castigated the J&K Government for ignoring AAP’s request to provide security cover and providing proper security to other party leaders.
