The workers danced on the Dhol beats and distributed sweets among the people to mark the party’s victory with thumping margins of over 58000 votes. It is pertinent to mention that the Aam Aadmi Party has broken Congress’s 24-year grip on the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency with a huge margin of votes. The victory marked AAP’s re-entry to the Lok Sabha as CM Bhagwant Mann had resigned from Lok Sabha after winning the Assembly seat in Punjab before taking the charge as CM.
Tony, while speaking at the celebration site, said that pro-poor policies of AAP have been acknowledged by the people of Punjab and the enormous margin of votes in the political contest is testimony to the fact that people are happy with the working of AAP in the neighbouring State.
Talking on the decimation of BJP in Karnataka Assembly election, Tony said that the poll outcome in the southern <State is defeat of communal forces. He congratulated the people of Karnataka for ensuring victory of the secular forces and ouster of the party which plays politics using divisive agenda by creating wedge among people on the religious lines.
Yashpal Kundal in his address, said that only AAP Government in J&K can provide succor to the people like the cases of Punjab and Delhi. He said that people should gauge by themselves the difference between AAP and the parties which rely solely on communal basis creating fissures among the society and differentiating people on different lines including colour, caste and creed. He assured that if comes to power, AAP Government in J&K will ensure equitable development with no discrimination at all.
Party leaders Amit Kapoor, Partap Jamwal, O P Jamwal, Mandeep Choudhary, O P Khajuria, Nirmal Mana, Appu Singh, D C Raja and Parvinder Singh were also present on the occasion.
