NEW DELHI : In yet another shot in the arm for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government in Delhi, its MLA M S Dhir was today elected Speaker of the Delhi Legislative assembly.
Mr Dhir, who was pitted against BJP’s Jagdish Mukhi for the post, received 37 votes in his favour against 32 votes for Dr Mukhi in the 70-member House.
His election to the post was a foregone conclusion after the Congress this morning decided to support the AAP candidate for the post. (AGENCIES)
