AAP Govt has lost its credibility: BJP

NEW DELHI, July 4:  BJP today attacked Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi, saying the Aam Aadmi Party has lost its credibility as the expectations with which people voted for it have been “shattered”.
The party’s vice-president Shyam Jaju, who is the new in-charge of Delhi, pooh-poohed Kejriwal’s criticism of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, saying “kahan raja bhoj kahan gangu teli”, a Hindi proverb meaning the Delhi Chief Minister was no match to the Prime Minister.
Terming the national capital an old bastion of BJP since Jana Sangh’s days, he said his party would work hard to reclaim it while noting that it ruled in all three municipal corporations and won all seven Lok Sabha seats in the city.
“People are fed up and disheartened by the APP Government. They have come to realise after witnessing its performance that the long term politics through allegations and counter allegations is not possible… Development requires vision and execution of such programmes need capability,” Jaju said.
“The credibility of this Government is finished. All the hopes and expectations that people had from it have been shattered,” he said. Jaju was yesterday made in-charge of the party’s affairs in Delhi, replacing Prabhat Jha, who will now look after the BJP’s affairs in Punjab and Chandigarh.
Criticising the Delhi Government over its advertisement budget of over Rs 520 crore, he said no chief minister had ever spent such a huge amount on commercials. “His electricity bill has also set a record.” The AAP leaders have abandoned the so-called simplicity they claimed to have practiced and have proved that they are no different from the others, he alleged.
