JAMMU, Sept 18: Expressing concern over the plight of CIC Operators working in Rural Development Department, Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday said that these operators are important stakeholder in the working of Rural Development Department but have been pushed to the corner with no one in Government ready to listen to their grievances.
In a press statement, issued by Dr Nawab Nasir, spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party, it has been stated that CIC Operators are currently handling the online work of department portals like e-gram-swaraj, SBM, PMAY, PPC, GPDP, PMFS and other e-governance portals and these operators have highly professional degrees in their hands.
“They were appointed through the open competition after proper advertisement in the year 2003-04 and their recruitment was made on merit basis through proper recruitment procedure of district level appointment committees constituted by the Government,” Dr Nawab said.
Since their appointment, he said, these CIC Operators are working on contractual basis and being paid an amount of ten thousand rupees per month with no hike since a decade or more which is a grave injustice with these professional men.
“Aam Aadmi Party calls for a proper employment policy for these employees which should be notified at the earliest without any delay,” Dr Nawab said.
“In the first step, the Government should regularise these CIC Operators and their salaries should be given a hike as per need of hour,” he added.
Dr Nawab Nasir asked Jammu and Kashmir LG administration and BJP Government to stop playing with future of serving employees and shun its policy of mere slogan making. He told the Government to adopt a practical approach to redress the grievances of masses who are being pushed to corner for none of their fault.
