SRINAGAR, Nov 5: Hitting hard on National Conference (NC) for promoting familism and VIP culture in politics of Jammu and Kashmir, Aam Aadmi Party’s Kashmir province incharge Dr Ghulam Mustafa today said that ‘Aam Aadmi’ of J&K is now with Aam Aadmi Party to end familism and befooling politics.
In a press statement, Dr Ghulam Mustafa said that NC is promoting familism in Jammu and Kashmir which is disastrous for politics. He gave a reference of recent announcement of 47 assembly incharges of NC in Kashmir and said that the list of these assembly incharges is dominated by those who are from political families and this shows that familism is on peak in NC.
“There is nothing wrong if a person from a political background is given responsibility but there is wrong if most of the people in a unit are from same background and this shows that on one hand NC is beating drums for pro-people politics but is propagating familism in real which is unfortunate side of story,” Dr Mustafa said.
He further said, “Most of the assembly incharges announced recently are from families considered VIP and have bureaucratic background and this again shows that NC is promoting VIP culture in politics of J&K and the space for a common man in party’s politics is minimal.”
On the other hand, he said, AAP gives opportunity to a common man and the Party has shown this in recently constituted units of J&K. “We are having common men, professional people, senior citizens, youth activists, social activists, senior politicians in our units which make our units dynamic in nature having representation from all sections and importantly a common man gets all opportunities in AAP,” said Dr Mustafa.
