A Jammuite who is doing India proud

Maj Ranveer Singh Jamwal was born in village Badhori near Bari-Brahmana of Samba district. This Indian army officer is making Jammuites proud by leading national and international mountaineering expeditions.
Maj Ranveer Singh Jamwal who is fondly called Babli in his village is one of the rare bred of mountaineers who is making his mark at the national level.
Apart from participating in major mountain expeditions, Major Jamwal is also a “Search and Rescue Course Qualified instructor” from Switzerland.
Maj Ranveer Singh Jamwal has done four rescue operation in India. The two notable ones are the Rescue in Gurez valley in Kashmir and the second one is Garhwal region for which he was airlifted from Srinagar to the Garhwal Region for the Rescue operation.
In a short span of three years Maj Ranveer has done five prominent peaks, the notable ones are Mt Mana (23857 Ft) in 2009 and Mt Kilimanjaro (29000 Ft) in 2010. He even made a sort of record by climbing three major peaks in one year by climbing Mt Bandarpunch (20870 Ft)in May-Jun 2010, Mt Bhagirathi (21220 Ft) in Aug-Sep 2010 and Mt Killimanjaro (19870 Ft) in Oct 2010, which is also the highest peak in African Continent.
A trained skier and Mountaineer Ranveer has plans to scale the highest peak of all continents. He has already got invitation from South America to climb Mt American Continent and also the highest peak in the world outside Asia.
He has done mountaineering in Leh Region, Garhwal Region in India and has also done mountaineering and extensive trekking in the Alps while doing a course in Switzerland and Killimanjaro in Tanzania (Africa). Maj Ranveer Singh Jamwal is all set to go places . Maj Ranveer Singh Jamwal is a receipient of Gallantry award from the Army as well.
