Sir,
The creation of new administrative units in the State is indeed a historic step as it will bring Government to the doorsteps of people especially those located in far-flung area. However, the creation of units at this hour when elections are round the corner should not be mere a election gimmick just to hoodwink the people of State. It should be a reality. The creation of such unit will entail huge financial involvement which is not an easy job for a state like J&K to cope with. The State is dependent on the Centre for financial assistance and the State Government has to be sagacious enough to meet the expenditure.
Whethere these units come into existance before or after elections remains to be answered.
Besides, the Government has to assuage the feelings of people whose demand could not be filled in the Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) report. A herculean task.
Yours etc…
Ajit Singh, Samba
