JAMMU, June 15: National Awami United Party (NAUP) has demanded more health infrastructure at border belts of J&K.
In a press conference here today National NAUP president, Sandeep Singh said, people of border areas from Lakhanpur to Poonch are facing a lot of problems due to cross border shelling from Pakistani side and the firing incidents are increasing day by day with Pakistani forces repeatedly targeting forward posts, villages and residential areas at the Line of Control and International Border.
He said that strengthening health infrastructure in remote as well as border areas of J&K will help border residents during ceasefire violations.
Singh claimed that many health care institutions in border areas are without doctors and in case of some emergency there is no one to look after the patients.
He demanded bullet proof ambulances for border area residents and special recruitment drive of MBBS, BAMS doctors and paramedical staff under National Health Mission Programme for border belts to further strengthen the health and medical infrastructure there.
