KARGIL, May 1: Member Parliament (MP), Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal under the Ladakh ‘MP Cares’ initiative has provided free sanitizers for the health workers and other staff members of various Medical Sub Centers of Health Department Kargil and free masks for the staff members LAHDC Council Secretariat Kargil, here.
These protective items were handed over to the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan and Executive Councillor for Health by the President and other members of BJP Leh and Kargil.
The CEC Kargil on the occasion appreciated the steps taken by the MP Ladakh for providing these protective items to the frontline health workers during the current pandemic situation of COVID-19.
The EC Health also stated that the proactive role played by the MP Ladakh for helping out and facilitating people during the situation triggered by COVID-19 pandemic in and outside Ladakh is highly commendable.
Meanwhile, it was informed on the occasion that such items are being provided for the containment areas in near future.
Pertinently, the MP Ladakh has started the ‘MP Cares’ Initiative to distribute masks and hand sanitizers to all households in Ladakh and to create awareness among people on ways to check the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
Under the initiative, a kit containing 2 bottles of 200 ml sanitizers, 5 three-ply masks and bilingual pamphlet written in both Bhoti and English highlighting the do’s and don’ts aimed to raise awareness about the pandemic will be delivered to every household under the containment zones.
