KARGIL Apr 24 : Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad chaired an officers meeting to discuss and finalize the department wise Capex Budget 2020-2021 at the Conference Hall of Council Secretariat here today.
Executive Councillor for Social Welfare and Horticulture Aga Syed Mujtaba Mosavi, Director Horticulture Ladakh Tarvinder Singh, District Superintending Engineer PWD Kargil Ved Prakash, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Programme Officer ICDS, Executive Engineers of I&FC, PHE, EM&RE, STD, Deputy Director Command Area Development, District Social Welfare Officer, District Superintendent Handlooms, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kargil besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
Detailed discussion was held on different nature of works and schemes proposed by the departments in PWD, Power, ICDS, Social Welfare, Animal Sheep Husbandry and Horticulture, Social Welfare, Handlooms and other concerned sectors.
The CEC exhorted upon the officers to prioritize the nature of works to be taken up during the current fiscal in complete conformity with the actual requirements on ground so as to avoid any chances of wasteful expenditure. He said adding that the ceiling in respect of each department will be communicated shortly.
He also asked officers to ensure an efficient expenditure management system while executing the schemes and works on ground so that the proposed works are completed well within the stipulated timelines.
Meanwhile, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad convened a meeting regarding the running of online classes by Education Department for school students during the ongoing lockdown period.
The meeting was attended by the Director School Education Muhammad Mumtaz Ali, Chief Education Officer Kargil Nazir Ahmad Wani, Principal DIET Kargil Muhammad Ali Bhuttoo, Chief Education Planning Officer Haji Muhammad Amin, ZEOs, members of Lecturers’ Forum and Teachers’ Forum Kargil besides other concerned officers.
During the course of the meeting, the CEC took brief from the officers about the present status of the online classes being run by the Department of Education for the benefit of student community during lockdown.
The CEC while underlining the need to organize all online as well as offline and radio based classes in a systematic and well organized manner instructed the CEO, Principal DIET and the members of Lecturers and Teachers’ Forum to work in tandem and close coordination while also soliciting necessary consultations, guidance and inputs from the 17000 ft Foundation.
Regarding the mass promotion of mass promotion of school students in the T-1 examination in view of lockdown, the CEC said that the matter will be taken up the UT Administration soon after necessary consultations with the LAHDC, Leh in this regard.
