BANIHAL, Apr 20: National Conference leader and district president, Sajjad Shaheen today expressed his serious concern over scarcity of essential commodities especially rations at the sale outlets of the Department of Consumer Affair and Public Distribution (CAPD), here.
Shaheen said that the scarcity of ration and defunct utility services were posing enormous problems to the people of entire district, especially in the Banihal Assembly constituency, adding, the deplorable scenario calls for immediate redressal measures.
Shaheen urged the administration to ensure adequate supplies of essentials commodities during the holy month of Ramadan which is scheduled to be started soon.
Expressing deep concern over the condition of the stranded students and labourers outside J&K UT, Shaheen said that over two to three thousand labourers, traders and students hailing from different areas of Banihal constituency have got stuck in different states as well in some districts of J&K, all of them should be immediately brought back to their homes in view of the holy month of Ramadan.”
He appealed the Central Government and J&K administration to arrange special trains and buses to facilitate their return.
