JAMMU, Apr 19: Sikh United Front J&K- an amalgam of various organizations has demanded revocation of the termination order of paramedics and staff nurses who were engaged under SRO-24.
The Front conduct a telephonic meeting and discussed the issues confronting the present situation of lockdown. The telephonic meeting was conducted by S Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman Sikh United Front J&K and attended by S Dayal Singh Wazir, Chairman Shiromani Akali Dal J&K; S Mohinder Singh, Chief Organizer Bhai Kaniya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K and Ex Member DGPC Jammu; S Darbinder Singh, President Shiromani Akali Dal J&K and S Kulwant Singh Khajuria, Joint Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K.
In the discussion, the selfless services of doctors, police personal and employees of all essential services were appreciated and general public was requested to cooperate them. Drawing attention towards the termination orders of 181 paramedics and staff nurses, the Front condemned the action and sought revocation of such termination orders as it is discriminatory and against the public interest.
“It is unfortunate that when there is dire need of frontline Coronavirus warriors and the Health Department is facing acute shortage of such staff, the authorities are disengaging the medically trained persons,” observed the Front and urged the Lt Governor to personally intervene and revoke the termination orders of paramedics and staff nurses who were engaged under SRO-24. The Front also requested to authorities at the helm of affairs to ensure that the doctors and nurses are provided with essential protective kits as they are rendering services to humanity at the risk of their lives.
Wazir sought continuation of all Health workers of J&K irrespective of the region to which they belong as entire J&K was heading towards a dangerous denouement in view of fast spreading Coronavirus with its lethal ferocity.
“Allow the Health professionals of both Jammu as well as Kashmir to continue as the Prime Minister of India has also issued directions that no employee should be terminated at this critical juncture,” Singh said, adding that they would stand shoulder to shoulder with the aggrieved terminated employees in their fight for justice.
