Govt should act against hoarders, profiteers: Sena

JAMMU, Mar 31: Bala Saheb Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir Unit today appealed to the profit-makers not to take illegal advantage of lock-down.  Party president, Manish Sahni said that there was a sudden increase of 20-50 percent in the prices of vegetables, fruits and pulses during the week under lock-down and also the scarcity of Karyana goods is being felt at the shops.
Talking to selected reports here, today he said not only this, most medical stores are also being ignored for giving discounts on medicines. Sahni said that almost the entire Government system is busy in dealing with the Corona epidemic at this time and profiteers are busy taking advantage of it.  Sahni reminded these people that at the time of crisis, every section of the society is giving voluntary donations to fight the epidemic COVID-19, while there is a section of traders who are making their illegal profits.
Sahni said that the prices of vegetables in Jammu have almost doubled within a week, while the price of pulses has also been increased by 20-30 percent.  He appealed the Government to take stern action against these. State secretary, Raj Singh was also present on the occasion.
