JAMMU, Mar 17: President of J&K unit National Democratic Party of India (NDPI), Rajesh Gupta today demanded the Power Development Department (PDD) to postpone its amnesty scheme amid the novel coronavirus outbreak in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that to avail the benefit of this scheme people were visiting PDD offices for clearing of their long pending electricity dues.
Keeping in view the fast spreading of the coronavirus, NDPI demanded to prevent the situation, the PDD should postpone its amnesty scheme for few weeks for the betterment of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
NDPI chief in a telephonic conversation with M Raju, Secretary PDD J&K UT and Chief Engineer PDD, Sudhir Gupta urged them to postpone the amnesty scheme on war-footing and save the people from the coronavirus.
