JAMMU, Mar 14: Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association (MULBPA) members held a meeting under the chairmanship of their president, B.S Jamwal and discussed their issues.
Speakers in the meeting, demanded hike in medical allowances of pensioners to Rs. 1000 per month and urged the Union Government headed by PM Modi to order 4 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) instalment from January 2020.
Demand of extension of benefits of Ayushman Bharat Scheme to pensioners with annual pension less than 5 lakh was also raised in the meeting.
More demands included provision of ration to the J&K people at cheapest rates because of poverty and hilly region here.
The Association members also demanded that Jammu Municipal Corporation should raise community halls on vacant municipal lands and the illegally occupied municipal flats should be vacated.
Y.S Jamwal, K.G Khajuria, B.D Verma and others were also present in the meeting.
